5 Things You Should Ask YourHVAC Contractor

Ask Before You Hire

  • Most denied warranty claims fail on missing service records, not on the part. What does your maintenance plan cover, and who documents it?
  • The old unit's size may have been wrong from the start. Is this sized off a load calculation, or off what's sitting there now?
  • Systems that fail early were usually fighting their ductwork. Is airflow being measured, or assumed?
  • A new outdoor unit paired to an old indoor coil rarely delivers its rated efficiency, and often loses its warranty. Are both being replaced?
  • Ten-year warranties commonly drop to five unless someone registers the equipment. Who files that, and by when?

Verify yourself: Florida HVAC requires a CAC or CMC licensed contractor. Confirm the license, plus current liability and workers' compensation.
